Possible Causes

Closed or blocked water supply valve, Clogged inlet water filter screen, Defective water inlet solenoid valve, Kinked or frozen inlet hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the water supply and unplug the unit before disconnecting any hoses.

  • Check water supply: Confirm the building water shutoff valve feeding the Fagor ice maker is fully open. Test water pressure by disconnecting the hose at the rear and briefly opening the valve into a bucket.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing. Straighten or replace the hose if damaged.
  • Clean inlet filter screen: At the water inlet valve on the back of the unit, remove the hose and inspect the small mesh filter inside the valve fitting. Rinse debris under running water and reinstall.
  • Test the inlet valve coil: With power disconnected, remove the access panel and locate the water inlet valve assembly. Use a multimeter to measure coil resistance; an open coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
  • Check for leaks after reassembly: Reconnect the hose, turn on water, and inspect for drips at all connections.

If the error persists after confirming water supply and valve function, the control board or water level sensor may require professional diagnosis.
