Ice harvest timeout; ice does not release from evaporator plate within expected time.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing covers. Hot gas lines can be very hot; avoid contact.
- Inspect evaporator plate: Remove the front panel and observe the evaporator grid or plate. Heavy scale or mineral buildup can prevent ice from releasing. Descale using a Fagor‑approved ice machine cleaner following the product instructions.
- Check harvest valve coil: Locate the hot gas/harvest solenoid valve in the refrigeration circuit. With power off, test the coil resistance. An open coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced by a technician.
- Verify thermistor placement: Ensure the evaporator thermistor or temperature probe is firmly attached to the correct location on the evaporator surface and has not fallen off.
- Run a cleaning cycle: Many Fagor ice makers have a dedicated cleaning mode. Run a full cleaning and rinse cycle to remove scale from internal surfaces.
If harvest timeouts continue after descaling and sensor checks, a refrigeration technician should evaluate the hot gas circuit and control board.
