Possible Causes
Freezer temperature too high, restricted airflow to ice compartment, weak compressor or sealed system issue, ice maker not seated correctly on mounting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Always disconnect power before removing panels or moving the appliance.
- Step 1 – Check temperature settings: Verify the freezer is set to the recommended temperature (around -18°C / 0°F). Adjust if necessary.
- Step 2 – Inspect door seals: Ensure Fisher & Paykel door gaskets are sealing properly. Replace if torn or deformed.
- Step 3 – Check vents: Make sure air vents inside the freezer and around the ice compartment are not blocked by food items.
- Step 4 – Verify ice maker mounting: Confirm the ice maker is firmly attached and level. A tilted unit can cause poor harvest and time-out errors.
If E3 persists and the freezer cannot maintain proper temperature, a sealed system or compressor fault may be present and should be handled by a licensed technician.
