Possible Causes
High mineral content in water, air in water line after filter change, deteriorating filter media, debris from plumbing work
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use only certified filters and potable water sources.
- Step 1 – Flush after filter change: After installing a new Fisher & Paykel filter, flush the system thoroughly according to the manual (often 3–5 minutes of water flow).
- Step 2 – Discard initial ice: Throw away the first 2–3 bins of ice after any plumbing or filter work.
- Step 3 – Consider water softening: If your water is very hard, a whole-house softener or RO system may improve clarity.
Cloudy ice alone is not a fault of the ice maker, but particles or grit indicate a filtration or plumbing issue that should be addressed.
