Possible Causes
Cracked ice mold, misaligned or loose fill tube, overfilling due to sticking inlet valve, ice maker not level
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply before inspecting for leaks.
- Step 1 – Inspect ice mold and housing: Remove the ice bin and look for cracks in the mold or housing where water could escape. Replace the ice maker assembly if damaged.
- Step 2 – Check fill tube: Verify the plastic fill tube is fully inserted into the ice maker and not cracked. Re-seat or replace the tube if needed.
- Step 3 – Level the unit: Use a spirit level to ensure the refrigerator is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust leveling feet as required.
- Step 4 – Test inlet valve: If water continues to drip into the mold when the ice maker is idle, replace the Fisher & Paykel water inlet valve.
Dry the area thoroughly and monitor for new leaks over the next 24 hours.
