Ice maker makes ice very slowly; bin never fills up.

Possible Causes

Freezer temperature slightly too warm, dirty condenser coils reducing cooling capacity, restricted airflow around ice compartment, partially clogged water filter

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before cleaning coils or moving the appliance.

  • Step 1 – Check temperature: Set the freezer to the coldest recommended setting and allow 24 hours. Ice production should increase.
  • Step 2 – Clean condenser coils: Pull the Fisher & Paykel unit away from the wall and vacuum dust from the rear or bottom condenser coils using a brush attachment.
  • Step 3 – Replace water filter: Install a new genuine Fisher & Paykel water filter if it is older than 6 months.
  • Step 4 – Clear vents: Ensure food items are not blocking internal vents near the ice compartment.

If production remains low, a sealed system or control issue may be present and should be checked by a technician.
