Possible Causes
Ice maker turned off in settings, failed ice maker module, no water supply to refrigerator, freezer temperature too high for ice production
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply before removing panels or water lines.
- Step 1 – Confirm ice maker is ON: On Fisher & Paykel models with a control panel, ensure the ice function is enabled. On manual models, verify the ice maker power switch is in the ON position.
- Step 2 – Check freezer temperature: Confirm the freezer is at or below -18°C / 0°F. Adjust settings and wait several hours if needed.
- Step 3 – Verify water supply: Ensure the shutoff valve is open and the supply line is not kinked. Replace the water filter if clogged.
- Step 4 – Inspect ice maker: Remove the ice bin and look for obvious damage or ice jams. If the unit is silent and never cycles, the ice maker module may have failed and should be replaced with a Fisher & Paykel OEM assembly.
If there is still no ice after 24 hours, further diagnosis of the water valve and control board is recommended.
