Possible Causes
Stuck or broken ice level arm, failed optical bin sensor, misaligned ice bin not engaging shutoff, control board not responding to full signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before adjusting or replacing sensors.
- Step 1 – Inspect level arm: If present, ensure the arm moves freely and is not stuck in the down position. Replace if broken.
- Step 2 – Clean optical sensors: Wipe sensor windows clean of frost or debris.
- Step 3 – Reseat bin: Make sure the bin is fully inserted and correctly positioned to trigger the full sensor.
- Step 4 – Replace sensor: If the ice maker continues to run with a full bin, replace the Fisher & Paykel bin level sensor.
Until repaired, turn the ice maker off to prevent further overflow.
