Possible Causes

Stuck water level float, Faulty water level switch, Blocked overflow drain, Control board misreading level sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power and turn off water supply before opening the unit.

Inspect the water level control:

  • Open the ice maker door and locate the water reservoir and float assembly (if equipped). The float may be a plastic piece that rises with water level.
  • Check that the float moves freely up and down. Clean any mineral deposits or slime that may cause sticking, using warm water and a mild cleaner.
  • Inspect the overflow drain channel for blockages. Flush with warm water to clear.
  • If your model uses an electronic water level sensor, inspect the sensor and wiring for damage or corrosion.
  • Test the water level switch (if mechanical) with a multimeter for continuity as you move the float. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
  • Reassemble, restore water and power, and run a test cycle to confirm normal fill and that E10 clears.
