Frigidaire
Ice Bin Full Sensor / Infrared Sensor Fault
Frigidaire ice maker displays E7 and cycles abort early

Possible Causes
Dirty bin full sensor, Misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, Failed bin level switch, Damaged sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the ice bin area.
Clean and realign the bin full sensor:
- Open the ice bin door and locate the bin full sensor. On many Frigidaire models this is an infrared emitter and receiver pair on opposite sides of the bin opening, or a mechanical bin level switch.
- Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with warm water to gently clean the sensor lenses. Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Ensure the emitter and receiver are aligned and not blocked by ice, plastic parts, or the bin itself.
- If your model uses a mechanical bin switch, move the arm or paddle by hand and listen for a click. If it feels loose or does not click, the switch may be faulty.
- Inspect the wiring harness from the sensor/switch back to the control board for damage or loose connectors. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Restore power and test operation by emptying the bin and observing whether the unit resumes ice production.
If E7 persists: Replace the bin full sensor or bin level switch assembly with the correct Frigidaire part.
