Possible Causes
Evaporator fan motor seized, Broken fan blade, Ice buildup around fan, Faulty fan wiring or connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing any fan components.
Inspect and test the evaporator fan:
- Remove the interior panel or rear panel (depending on model) to access the evaporator fan assembly.
- Check for ice buildup around the fan shroud. If present, allow the unit to defrost fully and identify the cause of excess frost (door left open, gasket leak, etc.).
- Spin the fan blade by hand. It should move freely without rubbing or grinding.
- Inspect the fan blade for cracks or missing pieces and replace if damaged.
- Reconnect power briefly and check if the fan runs when the compressor is on. If it does not run and is receiving proper voltage, replace the evaporator fan motor with a Frigidaire OEM part.
- Reassemble and verify that the F1 code clears.
