Frigidaire ice maker has a strong moldy or musty odor

Safety: Unplug the unit and turn off water before cleaning. Do not mix cleaners containing bleach with acids like vinegar.

Deep clean the ice maker:

• Discard all ice from the bin.
• Remove the ice bin and wash it with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
• Prepare a solution of Frigidaire-approved ice machine cleaner or a mixture of warm water and a small amount of unscented bleach (follow manual for ratios).
• Wipe down the interior surfaces, reservoir, and accessible water-contact parts with the solution. Allow proper contact time.
• Rinse all food-contact surfaces with clean water.
• Run at least one full cycle and discard the first batch of ice.
• Consider installing or replacing a water filter to improve water quality.
