Safety: Unplug the ice maker before reaching into the bin or mechanism.

Inspect harvest components:

Open the bin and remove any loose ice or foreign objects (utensils, packaging) that may contact moving parts.
Check the ice sweep arm or rake for bends or broken pieces. Replace if damaged.
Inspect the cutter grid (if equipped) for broken wires or ice jams. Defrost and clear any stuck ice.
Access the gear motor assembly behind the evaporator or side panel. Listen for grinding when turned by hand; excessive play or noise indicates wear.
Replace the harvest gear motor assembly if it is noisy or binding.
