Possible Causes
Failed bin full sensor, Misaligned infrared sensor, Broken bin level switch arm, Control board not reading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near sensors or switches.
Restore bin level control:
- Locate the bin full sensor or mechanical switch near the top of the bin.
- Clean the sensor lenses with a soft, damp cloth if infrared type.
- Check that the bin is properly installed and not blocking the sensor.
- If mechanical, inspect the switch arm or paddle for breakage and replace if damaged.
- Test the sensor or switch with a multimeter for proper operation. Replace if it does not change state when blocked/unblocked.
- If a new sensor does not correct the issue, the control board input may be faulty.
