Safety first: Turn off and unplug the ice maker before working in the bin area.

• Step 1 – Empty bin: Remove all ice from the bin to ensure the sensor has a clear view or movement.
• Step 2 – Clean optical lenses (if equipped): For optical sensors, gently clean the emitter and receiver lenses with a soft cloth and mild soap solution. Dry completely.
• Step 3 – Check mechanical arm (if equipped): If your model uses a bin arm, move it up and down. It should move freely and actuate the internal switch. If stiff or loose, inspect for broken parts.
• Step 4 – Test sensor/switch: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the bin switch or verify voltage changes at the optical sensor when blocked/unblocked (refer to service manual).
• Step 5 – Adjust alignment: Ensure the sensor brackets are not bent and that the optical path is straight. Adjust as needed.
• Step 6 – Replace sensor assembly: If the sensor or switch fails testing, replace it with the correct GE Profile bin full sensor kit.
