Possible Causes
Stuck water inlet valve, Faulty water level sensor, Control board not shutting off fill, Float obstructed by debris
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and shut off water immediately to stop overfilling.
- Step 1 – Inspect float/sensor: Remove any debris around the float or sensor. Ensure it moves freely and is not jammed.
- Step 2 – Test inlet valve: With water off, disconnect the outlet hose from the valve. Turn water on briefly. If water flows without power applied, the valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
- Step 3 – Replace water level sensor: If the valve is good but the unit continues to overfill, replace the water level sensor or float switch.
- Step 4 – Control board check: If a new sensor and valve do not correct the issue, the control board may be mis-timing the fill and should be replaced.
