GE ice maker is making ice, but the ice cubes are very small or hollow.

Safety first: Disconnect power and water before internal cleaning.

• Check water pressure: Ensure the supply valve is fully open and the line is not restricted. If on a saddle valve, consider replacing with a full-port valve.
• Clean evaporator: Use a GE-recommended ice maker cleaner to descale the evaporator plate following the instructions. Rinse thoroughly.
• Inspect thickness sensor: Verify the ice thickness probe or sensor is clean and properly positioned. Adjust according to the service manual if your model allows.
• Replace water valve if needed: If water flow remains weak despite good pressure, replace the water inlet valve.
