GE ice maker overflows water into the bin or leaks water from the front.

Safety first: Unplug the unit and shut off water. Place towels around the base to catch spills.

• Inspect reservoir level: Open the bin and check the water reservoir. If overfull, the inlet valve may be stuck open or the level sensor misreading.
• Clean drain path: Locate the internal drain hole or trough and clear any ice or debris. Flush with warm water.
• Check valve operation: With water turned back on, observe whether water continues to flow into the unit when it should be off. Continuous flow indicates a bad valve that must be replaced.
• Verify level sensor: Ensure the float or electronic level sensor is mounted correctly and moves freely.
