Possible Causes

Stuck water level float, scaled or dirty water level sensor, disconnected float switch wiring, failed water level sensor circuit on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before working inside the water reservoir area.

Steps to address E7:

  • Drain and clean reservoir: Remove the drain plug (if equipped) and empty the water. Wipe the reservoir with a soft cloth and a mild vinegar solution to remove scale.
  • Locate the float or sensor: Find the plastic float assembly or electronic water level sensor in the reservoir. It may be a small vertical float on a rod or a sensor mounted in the side wall.
  • Free a stuck float: Gently move the float up and down. It should move smoothly. If it sticks, clean around it to remove mineral deposits or debris.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the float or sensor wires to the control board. Ensure connectors are tight and wires are not damaged.
  • Refill and test: Refill the reservoir to the indicated level and restart the unit. If E7 clears and the unit runs normally, monitor for recurrence.
  • Replace sensor if needed: If the float or sensor is physically damaged or E7 persists despite cleaning and correct water level, replace the water level sensor or float switch assembly.
