Possible Causes

Misadjusted ice thickness sensor, dirty or scaled evaporator surface, faulty ice thickness control circuit, ambient temperature too low

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the ice maker before adjusting sensors or cleaning the evaporator.

How to correct oversized ice:

  • Clean the evaporator: Gently wipe the evaporator plate with a soft cloth and warm water/vinegar solution to remove scale. Do not use sharp tools.
  • Adjust ice thickness (if available): Some Gevi models have an ice thickness adjustment screw or menu setting. Reduce the thickness setting slightly and test.
  • Check thickness sensor: Ensure the ice thickness probe is correctly positioned relative to the evaporator and not bent closer than intended.
  • Monitor ambient temperature: Very cold rooms can cause overfreezing. Move the unit to a location within the recommended temperature range.
