Possible Causes
Defective main control PCB, Loose harness connection between display and main PCB, Blown internal fuse on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Gorenje ice maker from the mains before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.
- Check power supply: Verify the wall outlet has 220–240 V AC using a multimeter or by plugging in another appliance.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks. If damaged, replace the power cord assembly.
- Access control compartment: Remove the rear or side service panel (depending on model). Locate the main control PCB and the display/control harness.
- Check connectors: Reseat all multi-pin connectors to the main PCB and to the front display board. Ensure no pins are bent or corroded.
- Inspect board fuse: Many Gorenje ice makers have a small glass or thermal fuse on the PCB. Test for continuity; replace if open, but also check for shorted components before re-energizing.
- Test incoming voltage to PCB: With the unit carefully powered and using insulated probes, confirm that line voltage reaches the main board. If voltage is present but the board does not power the display, the PCB is likely faulty.
- Replace main control PCB: If all wiring and fuses are good and E1 persists, replace the main control board with the exact Gorenje part number for your model.
