Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Obstructed fan blades by ice or wiring, Fan harness disconnection, Fan tachometer feedback failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before reaching near fan blades.
- Access internal fan: Remove the interior cover near the evaporator to expose the fan assembly.
- Check for obstructions: Remove any ice buildup, wiring, or insulation blocking the fan blades. Ensure the blades spin freely by hand.
- Inspect wiring: Confirm the fan connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
- Test fan motor: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the fan motor leads. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. For DC fans, also verify correct supply voltage during operation (qualified persons only).
- Replace fan: If the motor is defective or noisy, install a new evaporator fan motor assembly compatible with your Gorenje model.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and confirm that E16 clears and airflow is restored.
