How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before removing any covers.
- Check door closure: Ensure the ice maker lid or door closes fully and the hinges are not bent.
- Locate door switch: Identify the mechanical or magnetic switch near the door frame. Inspect for physical damage.
- Test switch continuity: Disconnect the switch and use a multimeter to check continuity while opening and closing the door. Replace if the switch does not change state.
- Adjust magnet alignment: For magnetic reed switches, ensure the door magnet lines up directly with the switch location. Adjust the magnet position if necessary.
- Repair wiring: Fix any broken or loose wires between the switch and main PCB.
- Replace switch: Install a new Gorenje door/lid switch if faulty, then restore power and verify that E17 is cleared.
