Possible Causes
Open or shorted evaporator NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Corroded connector at main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before accessing internal components.
- Locate evaporator sensor: Remove the interior ice bin and front cover to access the evaporator plate. The NTC sensor is usually clipped or bonded to the evaporator surface.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Look for broken insulation, pulled wires, or corrosion at the sensor connector.
- Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor from the harness and measure resistance with a multimeter at room temperature. Compare to Gorenje's NTC resistance chart. A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates failure.
- Check continuity to PCB: If the sensor tests good, check continuity from the sensor connector to the main control board plug to rule out harness damage.
- Replace faulty NTC: Install a new evaporator temperature sensor of the correct value. Secure it firmly to the evaporator with the original clip or thermal paste as required.
- Reset power: Reassemble, restore power, and clear the error by cycling power. Monitor a full ice-making cycle.
