Possible Causes
Failed water circulation pump motor, Blocked pump impeller with scale or debris, Airlock in pump, Loose pump wiring connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the water reservoir or pump compartment.
- Check water level: Ensure the internal reservoir is filled to the correct level. Some Gorenje ice makers will show E8 if the pump runs dry.
- Access pump: Remove the ice bin and internal covers to reach the water sump and pump assembly.
- Clean pump and filter: Remove the pump (if designed to be removable). Rinse the impeller and housing to clear scale, slime, or debris. Clean any inlet screens or filters.
- Inspect wiring: Confirm the pump connector is fully seated on the harness and shows no corrosion or burning.
- Bench test pump: With the pump removed and using a safe low-voltage test setup or mains (as specified), briefly energize the pump to see if it spins. Replace if seized or noisy.
- Reinstall and prime: Refit the pump, fill the reservoir, and tilt the unit slightly if needed to help remove airlocks. Restore power and check if E8 clears.
