Possible Causes
Hard water scale buildup on evaporator, Dirty water reservoir, Old or saturated external water filter, Contaminated supply line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and close the water supply before cleaning.
- Empty and clean reservoir: Discard all water and ice. Wash the reservoir with warm water and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
- Descale evaporator: Use a manufacturer-approved descaling solution. Circulate it through the system if the model allows, or apply carefully to the evaporator plate and rinse well.
- Replace water filter: If your Gorenje installation uses an inline filter, replace it according to the schedule or sooner if taste issues occur.
- Flush supply line: Run water through the supply hose into a bucket for several minutes before reconnecting.
- Resume operation: Refill with fresh potable water and discard the first few batches of ice after cleaning.
