• Verify supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve is open and water flows from the disconnected supply hose into a bucket.
• Clean inlet screen: Remove and rinse the mesh filter at the valve inlet.
• Check for freezing: If installed in a cold area, thaw any frozen sections of the supply line and improve insulation.
• Test valve coil: Measure resistance across the valve terminals. Replace the valve if the coil is open or shorted.
