Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain hole, Frozen drain line, Kinked drain hose, Biofilm buildup in drain channel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working inside the ice compartment.
- Locate drain hole: Find the small drain opening at the bottom of the ice compartment or sump.
- Clear blockage: Use a flexible plastic probe or pipe cleaner to gently clear any debris or scale from the drain hole.
- Flush with warm water: Pour a small amount of warm (not boiling) water mixed with mild descaler down the drain to dissolve buildup.
- Check external hose: Inspect the drain hose at the rear for kinks or ice. Straighten and thaw as needed.
- Test drainage: Pour a cup of water into the compartment and confirm it drains quickly and completely.
