Ice maker does not power on, display is dark, no interior lights or fan operation

Safety first: Unplug the ice maker from the mains before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.

Steps to check:

• Verify outlet power: Plug a lamp or another appliance into the same socket to confirm there is 230 V AC present. If not, reset the breaker or use a different outlet.
• Inspect power cord: Check the Grundig power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. If damaged, replace the cord rather than attempting to repair it.
• Access terminal block: Remove the rear lower service panel. Locate the mains terminal block where the cord connects to the unit. Tighten any loose screws and look for signs of overheating or melting.
• Check internal fuse: On many Grundig ice makers, the main control PCB has a small glass or ceramic fuse. With the unit unplugged, remove the control board cover and visually inspect the fuse. Test it with a multimeter for continuity. Replace only with the same rating if blown.
• Inspect control board: Look for burnt components or bulged capacitors on the Grundig main control module. If the fuse is good but the unit remains dead, the control board is likely faulty and should be replaced as a complete assembly.
