Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain hole, Frozen drain line, Improper drain hose slope, Failed drain pump on pumped models
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working inside the cabinet.
Steps to check:
- Clear drain hole: Locate the drain opening at the bottom of the bin or reservoir. Use a soft brush or pipe cleaner to remove debris.
- Defrost drain: If the drain line is frozen, turn off the unit and allow it to thaw naturally. You can use warm (not boiling) water to help melt ice in the drain tube.
- Check hose routing: Ensure the external drain hose runs downhill all the way to the drain point without loops.
- Test drain pump: On models with a pump, listen for it during drain. If it does not run or is very noisy, replace the Grundig drain pump.
