Possible Causes
Stuck float due to scale or debris, Failed float switch, Faulty electronic water level sensor, Disconnected sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply valve.
- Drain and inspect reservoir: Remove water from the reservoir. Inspect for mineral deposits, slime, or foreign objects that could jam the float or sensor.
- Clean float mechanism: If a mechanical float is used, move it up and down by hand. Clean the shaft and float body with warm water and a mild cleaner until it moves freely.
- Test float switch: Disconnect the float switch wires and check continuity while moving the float. Replace the switch if it does not open and close reliably.
- Electronic sensor check: For electronic probes, clean them with a non-abrasive cloth. Ensure the sensor harness is firmly connected to the control board.
- Reassemble and test: Refill the reservoir, restore power, and verify that the error clears and the unit begins a fill or ice cycle.
