Possible Causes
Failed harvest motor, Jammed ice rake or cutter grid, Broken drive gears, Misaligned harvest cam or switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working near moving parts.
- Inspect harvest assembly: Remove the front cover over the evaporator and harvest mechanism. Look for broken ice pieces or foreign objects jamming the rake or grid.
- Free obstructions: Carefully remove any ice buildup or debris. Do not use sharp tools that could damage the evaporator or grid.
- Check motor and gears: Rotate the harvest mechanism by hand (if possible) to feel for binding. Inspect plastic gears and cams for cracks or missing teeth.
- Test harvest motor: With the motor disconnected, measure winding resistance. If open or shorted, replace the motor. If the motor hums but does not turn under load, replacement is also recommended.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing damaged parts, reassemble the cover, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm smooth harvest.
