Possible Causes

Partially clogged water inlet valve, Restricted internal water filter (if equipped), Faulty water level sensor in reservoir, Scale buildup in water distribution tube

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the water supply valve.

  • Check and clean internal filter: If your Hansa ice maker has an internal water filter cartridge, remove it and inspect for clogging. Replace if older than manufacturer recommendation or visibly restricted.
  • Descale water path: Remove the water distribution tube or spray bar above the evaporator. Soak in a descaling solution approved for ice makers, then rinse thoroughly to clear mineral deposits.
  • Clean reservoir and level sensor: Drain the water reservoir. Wipe away scale and slime. Clean the float or electronic level sensor area so it can move or sense freely.
  • Inspect inlet valve flow: Disconnect the outlet side of the water inlet valve and briefly open the water supply (with power off) to confirm strong flow through the valve. Weak flow indicates a restricted valve that should be replaced.
  • Run a full cleaning cycle: After reassembly, run a manufacturer-recommended cleaning cycle to flush the system and verify normal cube size.
