How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before servicing. Components in the sealed refrigeration system must only be serviced by certified technicians.
- Visual inspection: Access the evaporator area and inspect the harvest heater (if present) and wiring for burns or breaks. Check the hot gas valve coil for signs of overheating.
- Test harvest heater: With the unit unplugged, measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- Check hot gas valve coil: Measure coil resistance and compare to Hansa specifications. If open or shorted, replace the hot gas valve assembly (refrigerant handling required).
- Inspect harvest thermostat: Locate the thermostat or temperature switch on the evaporator. Test continuity at ice-release temperature per service data. Replace if it does not switch correctly.
- Control board evaluation: If all components test good, the main control board may not be energizing the harvest circuit. Inspect for burnt relays and replace the PCB if necessary.
