How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and close the water supply valve. Discard all existing ice.
- Clean bin and reservoir: Wash the ice bin, reservoir, and accessible internal surfaces with warm water and a mild, food-safe cleaner. Rinse thoroughly.
- Replace water filter: Install a new Hansa-compatible filter if your model uses one.
- Run cleaning cycle: Use an approved ice maker cleaner and follow Hansa's instructions to descale and sanitize the water path and evaporator.
- Flush system: After cleaning, run at least two full ice production cycles and discard the ice to remove residual cleaner.
- Check supply water: If taste persists, test the household water or use an external filtration system.
