Possible Causes
Faulty main control PCB, Loose or damaged wiring harness to control board, Defective power supply module, Internal control board relay failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Hisense ice maker from the wall outlet before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.
- Check power source: Verify the outlet has 110–120V (or local rated voltage) using a multimeter. Test the outlet with another appliance.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks in the Hisense power cord. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Access the control compartment: Remove the rear or top service panel (depending on model) using a screwdriver. Locate the main control PCB (usually behind the display or near the compressor compartment).
- Check wiring harness: Ensure all multi-pin connectors are fully seated on the main PCB. Look for burnt pins, corrosion, or broken wires. Reseat each connector firmly.
- Inspect the board: Look for burnt components, bulged capacitors, or darkened areas on the PCB. If present, the board is likely defective.
- Reset the unit: With the unit unplugged, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to discharge residual power, then reconnect power and see if E1 clears.
- Replace main control PCB: If wiring and power are good but E1 persists, order the correct Hisense main control board by model number and replace it, transferring each connector one at a time to avoid miswiring.
