Possible Causes
Loose UI ribbon cable, Faulty touch control panel, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Failed UI communication circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before removing the control panel.
- Remove front control panel: Use a screwdriver or pry tool (as appropriate) to gently remove the display/keypad assembly.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Ensure the flat cable between the UI and main board is fully inserted and not damaged or corroded.
- Dry moisture: If condensation or spills have entered the panel, allow it to dry completely. Use a hair dryer on low, at a safe distance, if needed.
- Check for cracks: Look for physical damage to the touch panel or broken solder joints on the small UI PCB.
- Reconnect and test: Reseat the ribbon cable at both ends, reassemble, and power on to see if E13 clears.
- Replace UI panel: If the error persists and the main board is known good, replace the Hisense user interface/touch control assembly.
