Possible Causes
Shorted fan or pump motor, Shorted wiring harness, Internal short on main control PCB, Blocked mechanical load causing motor stall
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit immediately if E14 appears repeatedly to prevent further damage.
- Inspect wiring: Look for melted insulation, burn marks, or pinched wires around the pump, fan, and compressor areas.
- Check motors individually: Disconnect the evaporator fan, condenser fan (if present), and water pump one at a time, then power the unit briefly to see if E14 returns. This can help isolate the faulty component.
- Test motor windings: Use a multimeter to measure resistance of each motor. Very low resistance or continuity to ground indicates a shorted motor that must be replaced.
- Inspect control board: If all motors test good, the main PCB may have a shorted triac or driver transistor. Look for burnt spots on the board.
- Replace defective part: Install a new motor or main control PCB as indicated by testing. Do not bypass safety circuits.
