Possible Causes

Defective water inlet valve, Low or no household water pressure, Clogged inlet screen or external filter, Faulty water level sensor or float switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off the water supply and unplug the unit before disconnecting any water lines.

  • Verify water supply: Confirm the shutoff valve to the ice maker is fully open and that other fixtures on the same line have good pressure.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Check for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing of the Hisense inlet hose. Straighten or replace as needed.
  • Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the hose at the ice maker and inspect the inlet valve screen for sediment. Clean with a small brush and water.
  • Check float or level sensor: Open the reservoir area and ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck in the “full” position. Clean any mineral buildup.
  • Test inlet valve: With a multimeter, check the coil resistance of the inlet valve. If open or shorted, replace the valve. You can also apply 120V (or rated voltage) carefully to the valve (off the unit) to confirm it opens.
  • Replace faulty parts: Install a new Hisense water inlet valve or float/level sensor if they fail tests, then restore water and power and check for leaks.
