Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening any panels. Do not bypass fuses with wire or foil.
Steps to diagnose:
- Check outlet and breaker: Confirm the outlet has power by testing with another device. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord: Look for visible damage. Gently wiggle the plug while plugged in (without touching metal prongs) to see if power flickers; if so, replace the cord.
- Access control board: Remove the rear or bottom cover to reach the main control board. Look for an onboard fuse (glass or blade type). Test continuity with a multimeter; replace only with the same rating if blown.
- Check connectors: Ensure the main AC input connector and any inter-board harnesses are fully seated.
When to seek service: If the fuse blows again immediately or the board shows burn marks, the control board or another component is shorted. A technician should diagnose and replace the failed parts.
