Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and dry any spilled water to prevent slipping or electrical hazards.
Leak isolation steps:
- Check reservoir and drain: Remove the ice basket and inspect the reservoir for cracks. Ensure the drain plug or cap (if present) is fully seated and gasket is intact.
- Do not overfill: Fill only to the MAX line. Overfilling can cause overflow during operation.
- Inspect internal hoses: Remove the rear/bottom panel and look for drips while pouring a small amount of water into the reservoir (unit unplugged). Tighten hose clamps and replace any cracked tubing.
- Level the unit: Use a level to ensure the ice maker sits flat. Significant tilt can cause water to spill from the tray or reservoir.
Repair: Replace a damaged reservoir, drain plug gasket, or water tubing as needed. If the cabinet insulation is saturated, allow the unit to dry completely before reuse.
