Safety: Unplug before sensor inspection.
Steps:
- Check ice full sensor: Verify that the sensor is clean and aligned, and that ice can reach it. If it never detects full, the unit may run continuously.
- Ambient conditions: Use the unit within the recommended temperature range; very hot rooms can prevent normal cycling.
- Observe cycle behavior: If the tray never enters a release/harvest phase, the control board or thermistor may not be sensing temperature correctly.
Continuous operation can overheat the compressor; if sensor cleaning does not resolve it, have a technician test the thermistors and control board.
