Possible Causes
Failed condenser fan motor,Obstructed fan blades,Damaged fan wiring harness,Control board not supplying power to fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the Hoover ice maker before accessing the rear compartment.
- Inspect fan area: Remove the rear panel to expose the condenser coil and fan. Clear any dust, plastic wrap, or debris blocking the fan blades.
- Spin test: Try spinning the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely. If stiff or seized, the motor bearings may have failed.
- Check wiring: Inspect the fan motor wires and connector. Repair any damaged insulation and reseat the connector on the main PCB.
- Measure motor resistance: Disconnect the fan and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Verify voltage: During compressor operation (use caution with live voltage), check for mains or DC voltage at the fan connector according to the wiring diagram. If voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the fan motor. If no voltage, suspect the control board.
- Replace fan motor: Install a new Hoover condenser fan motor and ensure the blade is correctly oriented and secured.
