Evaporator plate or ice tray heavily scaled with white mineral deposits

Safety: Unplug the unit and turn off water supply. Use only manufacturer‑approved descaling products.

• Run descaling cycle: Follow the Hoover manual to run a full cleaning/descaling cycle using an ice maker cleaner.
• Manual cleaning: After the cycle, gently scrub the evaporator plate and water paths with a soft nylon brush to remove remaining deposits. Do not use metal tools.
• Rinse thoroughly: Flush the system with fresh water and discard the first batch of ice after cleaning.
• Install water filter: Consider adding an inline filter to reduce hardness and extend cleaning intervals.
