How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and turn off the water supply before cleaning. Use only food‑safe cleaners.
- Discard old ice: Empty the ice bin completely and discard any ice with off‑odors.
- Clean reservoir and bin: Wash the water tank, ice bin, and internal surfaces with warm water and a mild, food‑safe detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Descale system: Run a Hoover‑approved ice maker cleaner/descaler through the system following the user manual. This removes mineral deposits and biofilm.
- Flush with fresh water: After cleaning, run at least one full cycle and discard the first batch of ice.
- Check supply quality: If the household water has strong odors, consider using a filter on the supply line.
