Possible Causes
Closed or partially closed water shutoff valve, Clogged external water filter, Clogged inlet valve screen, Failed water inlet valve coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power and close the water supply valve before removing hoses.
- Verify water supply: Confirm the building water supply is on and that the shutoff valve to the ice maker is fully open.
- Replace or bypass water filter: If a filter is installed and older than recommended, replace it or temporarily bypass to test flow.
- Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the inlet line at the water valve and remove any debris from the valve screen.
- Test inlet valve coil: With power off, measure coil resistance and compare to spec. Replace the valve if open or shorted.
- Reset and test fill: Restore power and observe the fill cycle. Ensure the reservoir fills to the proper level within the allowed time.
When to call a technician: If E7 persists with good water pressure and a new valve, the control board or float switch logic may be at fault.
