Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between display and main PCB, Failed keypad membrane, Defective display PCB, Main control board communication fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before opening the control panel.
- Inspect keypad and display connections: Remove the front panel and carefully check the ribbon cable between the display/keypad and main board. Reseat both ends.
- Check for moisture: Look for condensation or water intrusion around the display. Dry thoroughly and correct any gasket issues.
- Test keypad: With power restored, press each button and observe if the display responds. If some keys do not respond, the keypad membrane may be failing.
- Swap display (if available): If you have access to a known-good display module, swap to isolate whether the fault is in the display or main board.
When to call a technician: If E9 persists after reseating cables and drying, a board replacement and reprogramming may be required.
