Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse, Faulty power cord or plug, Loose connections at terminal block, Failed main control board fuse
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off the breaker before inspecting wiring. Do not bypass fuses.
- Check building power: Verify the outlet has correct voltage using a known-good appliance or a meter. Reset any tripped breaker and replace blown fuses with correct rating.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or loose plug blades. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Check terminal block: Remove the front panel and inspect the power terminal block for loose screws or burned terminals. Tighten and replace damaged parts.
- Inspect internal fuse: Many Hoshizaki boards have a small fuse. With power off, remove and test for continuity. Replace only with the same type and rating.
When to call a technician: If power is present at the terminal block but the unit remains dead, the control board or transformer may have failed.
