Possible Causes

Worn or damaged keypad membrane, Loose ribbon cable, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Failed display/keypad PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power before opening the control panel.

  • Dry the panel: If condensation or spills are present, dry thoroughly and correct any gasket or sealing issues.
  • Reseat ribbon cable: Carefully disconnect and reconnect the keypad ribbon cable at both ends.
  • Test buttons: With power restored, test each button. If some remain unresponsive, the keypad membrane is likely failing.
  • Replace keypad/display: Install a new Hoshizaki keypad or display assembly if available.

When to call a technician: If a new keypad does not restore function, the main control board may be at fault.
