Unit runs continuously and overfills bin, ice spilling out

Safety First: Disconnect power before working in the bin or control compartment.

• Test bin thermostat: For mechanical types, remove wires and test continuity. It should open when the sensing bulb is cold (bin full). Replace if stuck closed.
• Check electronic sensor: For optical or electronic sensors, clean lenses and verify alignment. Replace if physically damaged.
• Inspect wiring: Look for wires shorted together at the bin control terminals.
• Temporary measure: Until repaired, manually switch the unit off when the bin is full to prevent overflow.

When to call a technician: If the control board does not respond to a known-good bin control, board replacement may be required.
